The enrolment to the European Schooling Helsinki happens in two categories, category 1 and category 2.


The document for enrolment rules, procedure and policy has been approved by the Administrative Board of the school and can be uploaded here.


The application period for the school year 2017-18 was in 9 -24 January 2017. Entrance tests were organized in February 2017.


For the enrolment of school year 2017-18 there are still some vacancies in category 2 (the parents of the child are not employed by the European Union; please see details in the Act on European Schooling Helsinki under Legal basis):




English nursery N1: two (2) vacancies (birth year 2012)

English nursery N2: one (1) vacancy (birth year 2011)

French nursery N1: three (3) vacancies (birth year 2012)

French nursery N2: three (3) vacancies (birth year 2011)



English primary P3: two (2) vacancies (birth year 2008)

English primary P4: two (2) vacancies (birth year 2007)

French primary P1-P2: four (4) vacancies (birth year 2010 or 2009)

French primary P4: one (1) vacancy (birth year 2007)

Finnish primary P3: six (6) vacancies (birth year 2008)

Finnish primary P4: two (2) vacancies (birth year 2007)

Finnish primary P5: one (1) vacancy (birth year 2006)




There are vacancies for the secondary in all language sections, English, French and Finnish for classes S1-S6 (year of birth 2005 or earlier).
The first class of the secondary (S1) corresponds the 6th grade in the Finnish comprehensive school (Year 7 in UK, VIème in France, Grade 6 in IB-school) and the classes S2-S4 accordingly.
The secondary class S5 corresponds the first class of the upper secondary school (lukio) in Finland (Year 11 in UK, Seconde in France, Grade 10 in IB-school) and S6 the following year accordingly.

The leaving certificate is the European Baccalaureate (EB) which is taken in the end of class S7.
