European School of Helsinki is a state school which started its operation in autumn 2008. There are three language sections in the school: English, French and Finnish. The two-year nursery cycle starts at the age of four, the five-year primary cycle at the age of six and the secondary cycle at the age of eleven. The school follows the syllabi of the European Schools. The following post is vacant as from 14.08.2018:

Job description

The part time Psychology teacher is responsible for teaching Psychology in the Secondary school according to the European Schools curriculum in the European Baccalaureate level. The job entails a close collaboration with colleagues from different language sections in a dynamic, international team.


- A pedagogical degree in teaching Psychology in the secondary school.

- Experience in the field of education and more specifically with teaching Psychology.

- Knowledge and fluency of English language

A successful candidate is innovative and willing to contribute to the development of the school. We appreciate working experience from multicultural environment, flexibility and ability to work in co-operation with colleagues from other language sections of the school. Knowledge of Finnish language or French language or another European language is an asset. The qualifications of teachers are determined in the Government Decree on European Schooling Helsinki 15/2008. The terms of employment and salaries of teachers are set in the Collective Agreement for teaching staff of the state schools and in the specific agreement for the European School of Helsinki (www.esh.fi).
